Anyone searching for Hyderabad air cargo needs to look about 25 km south: Begumpet Airport (BPM/VOHY) lost all scheduled traffic in March 2008, when Rajiv Gandhi International (HYD) opened at Shamshabad. The city-centre airfield now hosts business and general aviation, flight training and state and VVIP movements, and it remains home to the Indian Air Force's Begumpet Air Force Station. Every second year it becomes the venue for the Wings India air show, most recently in 2026.
