## Description

One asphalt runway of 4,501 ft, a busy flight-school pattern and not a single freighter: Beaver County Airport (IATA BFP, ICAO KBVI) in Chippewa Township is a general aviation field, best known for the Community College of Beaver County's aviation program, which trains air traffic controllers as well as pilots. A few miles away in Monaca, Shell's multibillion-dollar ethane cracker has been turning Appalachian gas into polyethylene pellets since 2022 — all of it leaving by rail and truck, none of it by air. BFP has no cargo terminal and no customs clearance for air freight.
