## Description

Building materials, food pallets and vehicles reach Wurrumiyanga by sea rather than by air — the barge from Darwin runs twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bathurst Island Airport (BRT/YBTI), operated by the Tiwi Islands Regional Council, has a single sealed strip of 1,470 m by 30 m, upgraded in 2018 at a cost of about A$9 million and suitable only for light aircraft. Fly Tiwi and Kakadu Air fly daily from Darwin, roughly 80 km south and about 30 minutes' flying time.
