## Description

Unlike island-bound Malabo, Bata Airport (BSG/FGBT) is the air gateway to mainland Equatorial Guinea and the Río Muni region, the country's continental heartland. Its runway of about 3,310 metres is long enough for almost any wide-body aircraft, though operations are limited to daylight hours. Malabo-based Cronos Airlines anchors the schedule with several daily passenger-and-cargo rotations to the capital, plus charter services to Douala, Port Harcourt and Cotonou; the airport handles upward of 250,000 passengers a year. There is no confirmed dedicated freight terminal or scheduled freighter operation, so air cargo travels in the belly of passenger aircraft, and Cronos has added an Embraer 175 that lifts both seat and belly-hold capacity.
