## Description

Better known for tourists than tonnage, Bastia-Poretta Airport (IATA: BIA, ICAO: LFKB) is Corsica's second-largest airport and the main air access to the north of the island. It handled about 1.5 million passengers in 2024, a slight 0.6% dip on 2023, with direct links to Paris, Marseille, Nice and Lyon plus many summer leisure routes. Sitting at Lucciana some 20 km south of Bastia, the airport carries limited air cargo, mostly belly freight on scheduled flights and weighted toward supplies and fresh goods for the island. It has no large freight centre; heavier mainland consignments move through Marseille-Provence (MRS), the reference cargo hub.
