## Description

Founded as the air access to one of Morocco's four imperial cities, Bassatine Airport (MEK/GMFM) today mainly serves general aviation and flight training rather than commercial traffic. It has no dedicated freight terminal: the cereals, olives and wine of the Meknès plains reach export markets by road via the Casablanca Mohammed V cargo hub (CMN) or the cold chains of Agadir. For forwarders, MEK is best treated as a regional airfield within the catchment of nearby Fès-Saïss (FEZ). Its draw lies in the UNESCO medina of Meknès and the pilgrimage town of Moulay Idriss just to the north.
