## Description

Zero airlines currently operate the Bamenda–Douala route, and that single figure sums up the position of Bamenda Airport (BPC/FKKV) in Cameroon's Northwest. Camair-Co launched services to Douala and Yaoundé in 2017, but the security situation of the Anglophone Crisis brought them to a halt in 2020. The runway lies outside the city toward Bali, at roughly 1,240 metres in the Cameroonian grassfields. No air freight is processed here: no freighters, no belly capacity, no cargo terminal, no handling agent. Coffee, horticultural produce and other regional goods therefore travel some 370 km by road to Douala (DLA), the country's leading freight airport with around 50,000 tonnes of cargo and about 1.5 million passengers a year. Yaoundé Nsimalen (NSI) is the secondary option but carries far less freight. Shippers should budget for a long and occasionally disrupted road leg when planning exports out of Bamenda.
