## Description

Copper is what put Balkhash on the map: the smelter town on Lake Balkhash is served by BXH (ICAO: UAAH), a regional airport roughly 6 km northeast of the centre with a 2,502 m runway rated for aircraft up to Il-76 and An-12 size.
