## Description

Until 2 December 2021 Baitabu, in Donghai County about 25 km west of downtown Lianyungang, was the city's civil airport; since then it has served purely as a People's Liberation Army Air Force base. That makes it unavailable for civil air cargo — freight handling, customs and scheduled traffic all moved to the new Lianyungang Huaguoshan International Airport (LYG). Shippers serving the Lianyungang area work with LYG or the city's large seaport, with Nanjing (NKG) and Qingdao (TAO) supplying freighter capacity.
