## Description

Baicheng Chang'an Airport went into service in October 2017, giving the far west of Jilin province its own air link after years of long rail journeys. Passenger flights connect the city with Beijing, Changchun and other destinations. The surrounding plain is corn country and one of China's largest wind-power bases. The airport itself handles no freight. Urgent shipments are trucked about 300 km to Changchun Longjia (CGQ).
