## Description

For years one airline flew 99 percent of the departures at Atlantic City International (IATA: ACY, ICAO: KACY) — and in May 2026 that airline, Spirit, wound down operations. Breeze Airways, American Airlines and Allegiant now share the gap, with Breeze taking over Spirit's leisure routes to Orlando, Fort Myers and Palm Beach from July 2026. The airport also hosts the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center, the agency's national research and testing campus working on everything from radar to drone integration, while the Air National Guard operates F-16s here. No cargo moves at ACY; southern New Jersey's air freight clears through Philadelphia (PHL), about an hour west via the Atlantic City Expressway. For forwarders, ACY is a passenger and research field with no freight role of its own.
