## Description

Not to be confused with Kilimanjaro International (JRO) some 50 kilometres away, Arusha Airport (ARK) is the town's close-in airfield, sitting at almost 1,400 metres. It serves general aviation and bush operators such as Auric Air and Regional Air, which fly safari guests to the airstrips of the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. There is no cargo terminal and no handling for larger consignments; the region's perishable exports — cut flowers and vegetables — move through JRO. For forwarders, ARK is a feeder for passengers and small parcels rather than a freight location.
