## Description

Two hundred and fifty kilometres north of Thunder Bay, where Highway 527 simply ends, Armstrong Airport (YYW, ICAO CYYW) marks the edge of Ontario's road network. Its paved runway of roughly 1,220 metres takes charter, bush and utility traffic, but no scheduled passenger service. The field works mainly as a transfer and resupply point for remote First Nations communities without all-year road access, served by carriers such as Wasaya Airways.
