## Description

When Argyle International (SVD) opened in February 2017, it replaced the cramped E. T. Joshua Airport and finally gave St Vincent and the Grenadines a runway long enough — about 2,700 m — for wide-body aircraft. That shift turned the island into a genuine cargo point: Amerijet International now serves it with Boeing 767-300F freighters, while passenger carriers Caribbean Airlines, American, Delta, Air Canada Rouge and Virgin Atlantic add belly capacity. The airport runs a dedicated cargo terminal with cold storage, handling imports and exporting fresh fish, root crops and tropical produce. On-site customs clearance supports next-day shipments toward Miami and the wider Caribbean. The Windward Highway links the terminal to Kingstown and the deep-water port. Regional carriers such as SVG Air and Mustique Airways feed connections out to the Grenadine islands. In practice, almost all of the country's international air freight is consolidated here.
