## Description

Arctic Village Airport (ARC/PARC) is the only year-round supply link for its Gwich'in community in northeast Alaska, roughly 470 km north of Fairbanks and with no road connection at all. The gravel-strip field is owned and operated by the Venetie Tribal Government and is open to public passenger and freight traffic. Wright Air Service flies the route from Fairbanks and carries freight alongside passengers, operating its own freight desk for consignments. A large share of the goods flow arrives through the USPS Alaska Bypass Mail programme, which subsidises bulk shipments of food and consumer goods into remote villages and effectively functions as the region's freight system. There is no cargo terminal, no customs facility and no international service: inbound international shipments clear in Anchorage (ANC) or Fairbanks (FAI) and are then flown onward.
