## Description

Uranium built this airfield: Arandis Airport (ADI/FYAR) in Namibia's Erongo Region was developed to serve the Rössing mine, one of the world's largest open-pit uranium operations, and it still works mainly as a charter and company-flight strip rather than a commercial airport. Its single asphalt runway 10/28 measures 1,920 metres, sufficient for turboprops and business jets but not for widebody freighters. There are no scheduled passenger services, so regular belly cargo is not available, and no dedicated cargo terminal, bonded warehouse or resident handling agent is confirmed at ADI. Building on that position, a logistics hub and truck port project worth around N$23 million has been launched in Arandis, offering warehousing, a container terminal and cold storage for SADC-bound cargo moving through Walvis Bay. Charter and project-cargo demand may grow with the Erongo green hydrogen and ammonia developments, including the Daures Green Hydrogen Village and an ammonia plant some 70 km from Walvis Bay whose final investment decision is expected in 2026.
