Fresh seafood out, groceries and building material in: that is the everyday freight picture on Andros, the largest and least densely populated island of The Bahamas. Andros Town Airport (IATA: ASD, ICAO: MYAF) at Fresh Creek is one of four airfields on the island, alongside San Andros (SAQ), Mangrove Cay (MHZ) and Congo Town (TZN), and it handles mainly regional passenger and tourism traffic on turboprops flown by Bahamasair, Western Air and Flamingo Air, largely shuttling to Nassau. The airport has no cargo terminal, cold chain or dangerous-goods handling of its own, so airfreight travels only as belly load on those regional flights. Consignments for Andros are therefore consolidated at Nassau (NAS), the country's single genuine air cargo gateway, or shipped far more cheaply by mailboat from Potter's Cay.
