## Description

Anapa Vityazevo Airport (IATA: AAQ, ICAO: URKA) has been closed to civilian traffic since 24 February 2022, when Russia's war on Ukraine shut a string of southern airports indefinitely. Even before that, AAQ was a seasonal leisure gateway for the Black Sea beach resorts around Anapa rather than a freight station, and no significant air cargo was ever handled here. For forwarders it currently carries no role. In southern Russia, usable cargo capacity sits mainly at Sochi (AER, about 280 km), which stayed open throughout, and at Krasnodar (KRR, about 160 km), reopened in 2025. Shipments for the Krasnodar region are planned via those hubs and onward road transport.
