## Description

Some ninety kilometres from the Namanga border post, on the floor of Amboseli National Park and facing Kilimanjaro across the Tanzanian frontier, ASV (HKAM) is a safari airfield rather than a freight facility. The Kenya Wildlife Service operates the roughly 1,180-metre unpaved strip, which has a basic terminal building and no cargo apron. Safarilink and AirKenya run several daily rotations from Nairobi Wilson (WIL) — not from Jomo Kenyatta — alongside lodge charters. With no cargo terminal, cold storage or goods customs clearance on site, what moves here is passenger baggage and camp resupply. Exporters in the region use Jomo Kenyatta International (NBO), about 240 road kilometres north via the A104 through Namanga or Emali, where Kenya's perishables terminals for flowers and vegetables are concentrated. Southbound traffic crosses at Namanga, with Kilimanjaro (JRO) the nearest airport on the Tanzanian side.
