## Description

Trinidad's colonial old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the reason Alberto Delgado Airport (TND/MUTD) exists: its single 1,801 m asphalt runway (06/24) carries tourist charters and domestic services from Havana, and little else. There is no cargo terminal, no cold chain and no permanent customs desk for air freight, so belly-hold parcels are the only realistic air cargo here. Shipments for the Sancti Spíritus south coast move instead through Cienfuegos Jaime González (CFG), some 80 road kilometres west, Santa Clara Abel Santamaría (SNU), or the Aerovaradero freight terminal at Havana José Martí (HAV) about 350 road kilometres away. From those points goods travel onward by truck along the Carretera Central. For time-critical consignments Havana is usually the safer routing, since customs, handling agents and international connections are concentrated there. Importers supplying hotels and tourism operators should budget more time for Cuban import licensing than for the flight itself.
