## Description

On a map it looks like a major airfield; in freight terms it does not exist. Al Asad Air Base (IQA/ORAA) near Hīt in Anbar province is one of Iraq's largest military installations, used by Iraqi and at times coalition forces – there is no commercial cargo handling and no customs presence for trade goods. Its traffic is troops, supplies and the occasional VIP flight, not consignments. Forwarders moving freight into western Iraq should clear through Baghdad International (BGW) and truck onward.
