## Description

A single civil enclave inside the Indian Air Force's Kheria station is all that Agra Airport (AGR/VIAG) offers civil aviation today, with passengers routed through the Arjun Nagar gate. Traffic reached 182,958 passengers in FY 2023/24, up roughly 39 percent, spread across just 593 aircraft movements. There is no dedicated cargo terminal and no verified freighter activity — only belly cargo on the handful of domestic services. Exporters of Agra's footwear and leather goods, marble handicrafts and carpets therefore ship through Delhi Indira Gandhi International (DEL), some 230 road kilometres away via the Yamuna Expressway and reachable by truck in about three hours, where air freight customs clearance is also carried out. Lucknow (LKO), roughly 330 kilometres east, serves as the second fallback. The picture may change: a foundation stone laid in October 2024 launched a new civil enclave of around 30,000 square metres with nine aircraft stands, commissioning expected between late 2027 and early 2028, although dedicated cargo facilities have not been confirmed as part of the scheme.
