## Description

Ağrı Airport (IATA: AJI, ICAO: LTCO) is named after the poet Ahmed-i Hani, whose work is still revered in the region around Mount Ararat. Situated at around 1,660 metres in eastern Anatolia, the field looks towards Turkey's highest mountain (5,137 m) — for Ararat climbers it is the nearest point of entry. AJet connects the provincial capital mainly with Istanbul and Ankara. There is no cargo handling; air freight for the region is routed via Gaziantep (IATA: GZT, approx. 650 km) or as belly cargo through the Istanbul hubs.
