## Description

CCR Aeroportos and logistics operator Pac Log run the freight terminal at Afonso Pena International (CWB / SBCT) near Curitiba, which ranks fifth among Brazilian airports for air imports. Between January and September 2023 the terminal handled more than 9,000 tonnes, roughly 7,000 tonnes of it inbound, led by pharmaceutical and chemical goods (32% of import volume), machinery (23%) and electronics or technology products (14%). International services have grown from six to nine routes since CCR took over. A November 2024 apron extension added 60,000 m² and six stands for a total of 28, in use by freighters since mid-December 2024, alongside a dedicated import warehouse and areas for live animals and restricted cargo. Belly capacity on LATAM, Gol and Azul flights supplements the dedicated freight handling. Highways BR-376 and BR-277 link the airport to the deep-sea port of Paranaguá, making air-sea combinations practical for exporters in Paraná, and CCR expects a new runway to be completed by December 2026. Shippers needing a wider choice of intercontinental freighters usually route via São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU) or Porto Alegre (POA).
