## Description

ZAO, or LFCC in full, identifies Cahors-Lalbenque Airfield, the largest airfield in the Lot department and still one with no commercial cargo handling. It stands on the commune of Cieurac, about 12 km south of Cahors and close to the truffle market town of Lalbenque, and is run by a joint authority of local councils. A 1,500 m paved runway and a 1,080 m grass strip, with Jet A1 and Avgas available, serve general aviation, gliding, powered flight, parachuting and occasional business aviation; there is no freight terminal and no permanent customs post. Its location is well connected by road: the A20 motorway between Paris and Toulouse passes right by the field. For air freight, Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS) is the nearest full-service option, around 110 km down the A20, with cargo handling, customs clearance and strong links to the regional aerospace industry. Bordeaux-Mérignac (BOD, about 220 km) and Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) come into play for intercontinental shipments and perishables. Lot specialities such as truffles, duck and goose products and Cahors wine are almost always trucked to those hubs for export.
