The Alès Cévennes chamber of commerce owns and operates Alès Cévennes Airfield (ICAO LFMS), a 1,400 m general-aviation strip with no scheduled passenger or cargo service. It lies about 8 km south-south-east of Alès, spread across the communes of Deaux and Vézénobres in the Gard department of Occitanie. The 01/19 asphalt runway serves the local aeroclub, skydiving, helicopter and sightseeing flights plus occasional business aviation. There is no cargo terminal, no customs office and no dangerous-goods acceptance on site, and the runway is too short for freighter types from ATR size upwards. Shippers around Alès normally truck consignments to Marseille-Provence (MRS), roughly 190 km away via the A9 and A54, which offers freight warehousing, perishables cooling and customs clearance. Nîmes (FNI, about 45 km) and Montpellier-Méditerranée (MPL, about 75 km) are closer but handle very little freight.
