## Description

Abu ad Duhur is a military airfield in Idlib province, not a civil passenger or cargo airport, so no commercial air freight is handled here. Fought over repeatedly during the Syrian civil war, it has been held by Syria's new government since the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024. On 18 August 2026 several waves of airstrikes, claimed by Israel, hit the runway and reportedly some warehouses, with no casualties reported. The base still has no scheduled IATA/ICAO service and no public cargo terminal. Shipments bound for north-western Syria move instead through the reopened Aleppo airport (ALP) or overland via the Bab al-Hawa/Cilvegözü crossing with Türkiye. There is no civilian cargo role here, and none is in prospect.
