## Description

With 1.448 million passengers in 2024 (up 1.8%), Aalborg Airport (IATA: AAL, ICAO: EKYT) is Denmark's third-busiest airport and the air gateway for northern Jutland. Unusually for a regional airport, it runs its own cargo centre offering warehousing, on-site customs clearance and freight-forwarding support, with the focus on time-critical general cargo. Recent investment has added equipment for handling larger air-freight consignments. SAS, Ryanair and other carriers serve more than 35 destinations including Copenhagen, Amsterdam and London, drawing on a catchment of around 2.4 million people. For intercontinental volumes, Copenhagen Airport (IATA: CPH, about 200 km away) remains the principal hub. The E45 motorway links the airport into the Danish and northern German road network.
