## Description

Two Galician airports moved in opposite directions in 2026: A Coruña (IATA: LCG, ICAO: LECO) carried 864,835 passengers in the first seven months, up 16.2%, while neighbouring Santiago de Compostela fell about 10%. Part of that shift was scheduled — Aena closed Santiago (SCQ) from 23 April to 26 May 2026 for runway works and moved routes to Alvedro, as the A Coruña field at Culleredo is commonly known. Iberia/Air Nostrum, Vueling and Ryanair serve Madrid, Barcelona and other Spanish and European points.
