> Copa Airlines Cargo is the freight division of Panama's Compañía Panameña de Aviación, S.A. and issues the air waybill under IATA designator CM with AWB prefix 230. The company belongs to listed Copa Holdings, S.A. and works mainly with belly cargo in its passenger network via the Tocumen hub, complemented by two of its own Boeing 737-800BCF freighters. For forwarders, Copa offers the densest transfer connections between North, Central and South America. Anyone booking pharmaceuticals, perishables or dangerous goods must allow for the narrowly limited dangerous goods classes and the hold dimensions of the Boeing 737.

## Overview

Copa Airlines Cargo is the freight division of Compañía Panameña de Aviación, S.A., Panama's national airline, based in Panama City. The company was founded in 1947 by Panamanian investors with technical and financial support from Pan American World Airways and today belongs to Copa Holdings, S.A. (NYSE: CPA), listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Cargo sales operate under their own brand with the copacargo.com portal, but use the passenger airline's identifiers: IATA CM, ICAO CMP and AWB prefix 230.

The business model is predominantly belly cargo within the dense passenger network via the Tocumen (PTY) hub, which Copa markets as the "Hub of the Americas". Added to this are two dedicated Boeing 737-800BCF freighters; Copa became the first operator of this type in Latin America in early 2022. As of 30 June 2026 the Copa Holdings group fleet numbered 131 aircraft, exclusively Boeing 737s in the 737-700, 737-800, 737 MAX 8, 737 MAX 9 and 737-800BCF variants; the fleet plan dated August 2026 foresees 132 units at year-end 2026, including the same two freighters. Cargo and mail revenue reached USD 34.183 million in the second quarter of 2026, 20.8 percent above the prior-year quarter.

For forwarders, Copa is above all a feeder within the Americas. The station network stretches from Canada and the United States through Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean to Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru; in Europe and Asia Copa Cargo works through general sales agents. The product range covers the Priority Light and Priority Heavy classes, contract traffic under "Integrado", and specialised products for works of art, outsize pieces, perishables, pharmaceuticals (PHP 2 to 25 degrees Celsius, PHA 15 to 25 degrees Celsius), dangerous goods, live animals, human remains and valuables. Copa accepts dangerous goods only in classes 2.2, 3, 6.2 category B, 7 as radioactive medicinal items and 9 — a restriction to bear in mind when booking.
