## Overview

Avianca Cargo is the cargo brand of Tampa Cargo S.A.S., based at José María Córdova Airport in Rionegro near Medellín. According to the interim financial statements of Avianca Group International Limited as of 31 March 2026, the company is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the group; the group itself has been controlled by Abra Group Limited since 3 April 2023. Unlike many cargo brands, Avianca Cargo is an operator in its own right: EASA lists Tampa Cargo S.A.S. in its register of authorised third country operators under the Colombian air operator certificate UAEAC-CDO-003 and the TCO code COL-0007, explicitly doing business as Avianca Cargo.

The company traces back to Transportes Aéreos Mercantiles Panamericanos – Tampa Cargo S.A., founded in 1973 and starting out with flower exports to the United States. Its first Airbus A330-200F arrived in 2012; since 2013 the cargo division has traded under the single brand Avianca Cargo.

The operating model combines its own Airbus A330 freighters with belly capacity on the Avianca passenger network. Miami is the freighter hub. According to the September 2026 schedule, the carrier links Miami with Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla, Cali, Guatemala City, San Salvador, San Pedro Sula, Managua, San José, Panama City, Guayaquil, Quito, Lima, Santa Cruz, Asunción, Ciudad del Este, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Campinas, Curitiba, Florianópolis and Manaus. Out of Mexico, freighter rotations from Felipe Ángeles (NLU) and Los Angeles serve Guadalajara and Monterrey.
