## Overview

American Airlines Cargo is the cargo division of American Airlines, Inc., headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. The airline belongs to the publicly listed American Airlines Group Inc. The cargo division does not hold an air operator certificate of its own: all flights are operated by American Airlines, Inc. itself, so brand and operator are one and the same.

The operating model is pure belly cargo. American Airlines Cargo markets the cargo capacity of the passenger fleet and operates no dedicated freighters; the carrier's fleet page refers exclusively to the passenger fleet on aa.com and gives no dated inventory. Frachtportal therefore deliberately records no fleet figures.

The network rests on nine hubs: Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK and LGA), Philadelphia (PHL), Phoenix (PHX) and Washington Reagan National (DCA).
